When first entering into the PSW program, I didn't really know what to expect. All I knew was I wanted to ''make a difference'' in someone else's life. After taking this program I've come to realize and understand what an important role the Personal Support Worker is to the Health Care Team. This program enables you to develop skills required to provide Personal Support Services to patients, their families, clients and residents in the community, at home and in long-term facilities. I learned to provide support for routine daily living activities; mobility; personal care and hygiene; ongoing medical conditions; medications; and management of household activities. My experience in the Office Clerk course at the Eastern Ontario Education and Training Centre was great. All the skills I learned here have more than prepared me for my COOP and subsequent job. I never would have gotten the job without all of my recently updated computer and English skills offered in the program. L'expérience vécue durant les derniers 7 mois au CÉFEO fut des plus enrichissante. C'est un endroit largement agréable pour perfectionner notre éducation. Les enseignant(e)s sont compétent(e)s dans leurs matières. Ils sont toujours disponibles pour nous aider et ce même après les heures de cours.
